You know it’s fall when the air is around 40 degrees in the morning and 70 in mid-day. You know it’s fall when the deer come back down from the hills and eat what’s left of your garden.
And you know it’s fall when both Jim and I hole up together in the garage with classical music and glaze clay pieces. It’s one of the things we do together, glazing and stacking the kiln. Here’s Jim glazing a small piece.
Today we finished glazing 16 masks.
Twelve of them went into the kiln — two on a shelf, surrounded by mugs and bowls to fill in the gaps.
He will fire tomorrow (Sunday), and we’llĀ open the kiln on Tuesday.
